This post would be my diary in Aerial Photographing taken by my converted IR Canon A490.I will update it whenever a flight has something valuable to show. I will try to keep a single format in every diary record. There would be some basic information in the beginning and then a gallery of single shots, the stitched photo and the NDVI result.
Date: 29 October 2014
Location: aloni
Altitude: 30m
StitchingSoftware: Microsoft ICE
Camera: Canon A490 IR converted with CHDK firmware installed. I used the basic intervalometer and not tha KAP UAV specialized script. I set the interval to 2 seconds.
Description: This is my first attempt of shooting infrared aerial photos. The first photo is a stitch of the photo set derived from the Microsoft ICE software and the second one is a NDVI like photo derived from the Infragram online tool.
Notes:
When I tried to geotag the photos with the gpx log of Ardupilot I couldn’t, because for some reason the file date and time were not valid. According to the file date and time, my canon was taking 3 photos per second which is impossible with that kind of camera. In the best case scenario I was expecting 3 seconds between photos. I should check this out.
